Copy data to your new Samsung Galaxy
It's always exciting to use a new phone or tablet for the very first time. Switching it on, trying out its most eye-catching features, playing around with it... but the most tedious part has to do with updating its configuration, applications, files and moving over our data from our old phone. That's why Samsung has created Samsung Smart Switch Mobile, an application that can be of help for the lucky owners of a new Galaxy device.
Let the files come to me, said a Samsung Galaxy
The application developed by the South Korean manufacturer basically allows us to move all our contacts, our music, our photos, our text messages, our settings, our call history, our WiFi networks and much more information from any device, whether Samsung, another Android, an iOS device, a BlackBerry, Windows Phone or even a Mac or PC, to our new Galaxy smartphone or tablet.
Your new Galaxy with all your old settings and files.
And how can we carry out all these transfers? Well, in many different ways. On Android, we can do so wirelessly between Galaxy handsets with Android 4.0 or above; or through a cable with Android 4.3 or above; and using an access point between certain compatible phones and our new Galaxy.
We only have to make sure that our devices can cope with these transfers and that all the settings are up to date so that we can receive the files and start working with them as soon as possible.
- Requires Android 4.0 or above.
- The installation of the app by means of the APK file requires the activation of the "Unknown sources" option within Settings>Security.
- You can check the list of compatible phones on the download page.
